APOPLOUS
(06/11 - 27/11/2021)
Antigone Pagonas, in her second solo exhibition entitled "Apoplous” (Ship Departure) turns again to landscape photography and more specifically on seascape. The exhibition is a small sample of a wider series of photographs inspired by the sea. She herself, working for more than 20 years in the field of shipping based in the city of Piraeus, offers us the images of her own sea wanderings, returning to her own starting point, to the port of her "Apoplous", Piraeus.
Pagonas, in both her painting and photographic endeavors, is always looking for places that will lead her to a process of introspection and self-knowledge...

AOTEAROA - Land of the Long White Cloud
(13/10 - 21/10/2018)
“Aotearoa”, in the language of Māori, is the geographically isolated New Zealand. It is the «Land of the Long White Cloud”, which enchants and moves with its natural landscape of incomparable beauty. Consisting of two large islands and a multitude of smaller ones in the southwest of the Pacific Ocean, it was colonized by Polynesians, Europeans and mainly the British, bringing together intriguing multi-cultural elements.
The exhibition demonstrates Antigoni Pagona's dual creativity; it is a joint artistic creation which expresses the beauty of the world in her personal style, using simultaneously and independently the art of photography and painting. A creative dialogue develops between the two arts, photography and painting, a contiguity between reality and illusion, in thematic succession, a connection of meaning and concept but also of aesthetics. The diversity of the expressive means guide the viewer to enjoyment and pleasure, as well as to the complementary function and commingling of arts to reveal its sensuality.

38 contemporary artists present works of painting, photography and sculpture, highlighting ART in the 5th element.
The name of this exhibition sounds foreign at first, since from ancient times, nature consists of a strict square of elements: water, fire, earth and air. The place of art in nature, however, is neither incomprehensible nor unheard of. Observation, admiration and awe for the world around us has been inherent in man since the time of the caves and continues to influence human creation to this day.
